Welcome to ERDU
|ERDU (Evangelisation Resources Down Under) is a Ministry of Our Lady of The Way Catholic Parish, Petrie, providing the Church throughout Australia and beyond with Scripture-based Resources to help people:
...with a spirit of contagious joy, welcome and service.
Welcome God's Surprises during Advent ...
Pope Francis often speaks of God's surprises and our openness to receive those surprises:
'The Gospel doesn't just tell us the things we want to hear. It is alive and strong and full of novelty; God's Word is free and full of surprises because our God is the God of surprises, the God of the Revelation.' 1st Jan 2014
'The newness which God brings into our life is something that actually brings fulfilment, that gives true joy, true serenity, because God loves us and desires only our good. Let us ask ourselves today: Are we open to "God's surprises"? Or are we closed and fearful before the newness of the Holy Spirit? Do we have the courage to strike out along the new paths which God's newness sets before us, or do we resist, barricaded in transient structures which have lost their capacity for openness to what is new? We would do well to ask ourselves these questions all through the day.'
9th May 2013
We experience these surprises from God as we let the Holy Spirit guide our lives.
As we spend time reflecting on our lives during Advent, these resources may help:
5 minutes with the Word:
'Using this little book for five minutes each day
during Advent can help you find the joy that
Pope Francis spoke about.'
The WORD among us:
'The best way for us to be inspired to
forgIve is to keep thinking and praying
about the child in the manger.'
'Enjoy one of the Church's oldest prayer traditions - lectio divina - sacred reading.
People are often surprised how easy it is to pray and how deep such prayer can be.'
VATICAN - Pope Francis Easter Message: "Christ is hope and comfort to the Christian communities suffering most for their faith on account of discrimination and persecution ... is close to all human situations of suffering and injustice." - Pope Francis Easter Message
